Along with the disappointing sales of the ILX in the U.S., it has been recently discovered that the production numbers of the ILX are also surprisingly low. The Honda plant of Greensburg, Indiana, responsible for the ILX production made only 91 ILX units in March 2013. Conspiracy theorists immediately began to question Honda's commitment to the ILX line and some even hinted the company was considering dialing back on the model. Mark Rechtin from Automotive News reports that the real reason for the slowed down production of the ILX is actually an increased production of the Honda Civic, which underwent a midcycle change and thus faced an inventory problem. Production of the Acura ILX should improve in the coming weeks, and hopefully the sales will pick up, too.
